1) Flyer's star forward Peter Forsberg is to meet with GM Paul Holmgren today to discuss the oft injured Swede's future. Its speculated that Holmgren will ask Forsberg to waive his no trade clause allowing the Flyers to attempt a trade of the soon to be UFA.
2)We're also told that Peter will come right out and be frank with Holmgren today. As has been our position all along, our sources tell us they don't believe that Peter has changed his mind. That he will NOT allow the Flyers to trade him to a contender before the trade deadline. Forsberg will tell Paul that he intends to instead use the extra time off to try to finally heal the many injuries he has suffered through this season, and then decide if he wants to return to the NHL next year.
3) Our source also tells us the Swede would like to return to the Flyers IF he was to return to North America next season. "Right now that's a 50:50 proposition" , our source confided. More on this as it develops

If your story is right it pisses the living shit out of me! If he's healthy enough to play for us, why can't he play for another team!
Another reason why I don't like European players. They don't have the same desire to win Stanley Cups. I know there are exceptions. Forsberg would help a team. We could get back something decent that might help this team next year or soon. If he just doesn't wantto play I'l lose all respect I have for him. and i wouldn't want him back next year even if he wants to come.
well forsberg has waived his no trade clause, and looks to be heading to a playoff contender. i am not all that sure he is worth the risk...if the flyers ask for the moon, there may not be that many takers. back in the day when he was healthy, he may have been the best player on the planet, but his foot is still wonky, and all the special skate boots they have tried to make him feel comfortable haven't seemed to help. somebody will probably gobble him up at the trade deadline, but i am not sure if he is fit enough to put that team over the top.
1) We are quite surprised at this turn of events for sure. We will be in contact with our Philly source this evening to see what went down with Peter and Holmgren!
2) It is very plausible that an 'unofficial' UFA offer was thrown at Peter if he was kind enough to waive the no trade clause. We will ofcourse stay on this and listen to hear who may have the inside track to get him!
Glad you missed this one faux! I think we can wait till the end and really watch the offers pour in for Peter! I think a 1st round pick or a top prospect is what Holmgren can get back. If not more
Peter can drastically alter the balance of power in any division when healthy - even at this point in his career... I am very interested in the Forsberg developments...
