1) As many of our most loyal readers know, we have been one of the few, and probably the harshest critic of the rumor Whore, Eklund. In the last few weeks we have joined his free section to respond/add our comments to his "rumors".
2) We NEVER used objectionable material. Never spammed his site by promoting this one. We merely called him out on his comments/rumors as each one failed to produce any results.
3) Today we again made comment on his silly Leclair to the Rangers post (After Leclair already cleared through re-entry waivers). We pointed out the folly of this "rumor". Apparently some of our criticism hit home just a little too close, as the posting which was rated G, was promptly removed, and our posting "privileges" revoked for 48 hours. They even have the nerve to say that "Creating a new user to avoid this ban will result in a longer ban and possibly account termination".
4) As anyone knows this ban is not possible, but is more telling of how much of a fraud this character is. Real sites like this one are NOT afraid of divergent opinions. You can believe the total opposite of what we write. All are welcome, always. Feel free to write all the malediction you feel. (Just no Spam)

The same thing happened to me over the summer. I wasn't rude, just said that i thought he wasn't being truthful. That was it. Bang 48 hour ban. Like I could give a shit. I haven't gone back since.
If what you say is true, he does sound a tad sensitive. Are you sure you didn't use a few 4 letter words to describe your criticism? ; )

Um not that happy Antz...Huet played a stinker (he still should recieve some all star love) and Les Boys couldn't quite hold on to beat the Booins. Was a fun one to watch....as for the rumor whores, and all the other b.s., bah, I just don't care.

1) Thanks to all, especially Jmol and, Trotz. We have received literally 75+ e-mails on this subject alone in the last 24 hours!
2) We know we're up against the flow on this. That its easier to just say nothing, but we feel its our duty to point out fraud where and when we see it
3) As Jmol points out, the thing that boggles the most are how emotionally tied some of these folks seem to be to this guy. Like he's a crack dealer or something
4) Which we guess is true in some way. He feeds them what they want to hear/read. Gets them excited, and keeps the flow of nonsense up so no one goes through withdrawl (finds another rumor site to satisfy their 'needs')
5) We accept the slings and arrows of these folks as a badge of honor. Keep it comin.' Don't only can we take it, but each shot makes us stronger/adds to our resolve!
Trotz19. Am I saying that Ek has a great correct prediction average? Nope. What I am saying is that no one cares. His site give us an excellent forum in which to talk about anything we want.
jmol2112. If it bothers you that Ek spews name after name in his rumors, DON'T READ HIS FREAK'N BLOG. Is it that hard to ignore Ek when there are 20+ other bloggers on the site. Or ingnore all the bloggers and just enjoy the forums.
Its amazing how all the people on this site can't see past the fact that, like Ek of not, his site is head and shoulders, (and torso, and waist, and legs), above this one. Get over your site envy.

2) He, being a commercial site (charges fees for "season ticket holders"/advertises) is open for criticism. As you have yet to answer our and our readers' questions about his percentage of being correct, we have to assume you already know the answer
3) The only way you seem to be able to build up his site is to attempt to discredit this one.
4) We are a small group of folks who love the game. We have some very prominent insiders who have give us some unique scoops to huge stories that NO other site has/had. However, this is NOT a commercial enterprise. Quite honestly/frankly All of us here do NOT need the money!
5) As we have NO financial interest, our stories are NOT motivated by keeping our readers happy, but by the truth. That last thought, and our amazing accuracy rate is what distinguishes us from the rumor whore(Eklund)
Yes. I know Ek's percentage is crap, but I couldn't care less. Do I read his blogs? Yes. Do I take what he says for gospel? No. Do you believe everything you see on TV? Because the way you react to Ek's rumors, one would think you don't have the ability to read or see something and not believe it.

So you think Ek's subscribers stay "happy" by him giving them bull$hit rumors? What don't you understand about a rumor website. If somebody said it, people want to hear about it. How is your accuracy amazing? What have you predicted that has come true. I haven't seen anything come true in my time here...
1) OK fair enough: here is a sample of some of the stories we have broken in our reletively short time:
a) The DiPietro contract- When Eklund was saying the isles are looking at Biron in Buffalo because contract talks were stalled, We, and we alone stated that things are in fact going well and to expect a very long term deal to be signed.
b) New Jersey- When all, including Eklund, were stating they would have to trade, Gomez, etc to get under the cap, we stated without reservation that Lamarello would NOT have to trade any of his stars, and Mogilny would retire due to injury AND a western conference team would take on Malakhov's salry(SJ did days later)
c) Gagne- Like DiPietro, many thought his days in Philly were numbered. We said nonsense. That a contract to stay in Philadelphia was imminent. 3 days later he signed
d) Zherdev- While most said he would stay in Russia, we said he would sign before the season started
2) Those are but just a few of the stories that FAUXRUMORS broke and was well out in front of in our reletively short history
Ek has no problem with criticism, he gets it all the time. The people that flame Ek haters are just sick of hearing it. WE KNOW IT WILL NOT COME TRUE, but does that mean we can't talk about it? Debate if it is a good trade for either team? How the player will fit into the system? Propose better/different trades? Thats what its all about. That why we read. If you want to flame Ek, don't do it in his thread, start your own in the misc forum.
Yes, some of his bloggers suck, but at least he is doing his best to cover the whole league. Some of his bloggers, are big time journalists in major paper etc. How awesome is it that I can chat directly with Tim P, Kevin Lee, Howard Berger, Kevin Gibson etc?
Bottom line, if you want to flame Ek, don't bother. Just boycott his site. We don't want to hear about it and you will get owned if you are gonna bitch...

I agree with both parties here. On the one hand this Ek guy has every right to say and write what he wants. Hey, if he wants to make a buck at it at the same time who cares.

2) However the premise of your question is that somehow we believe we are in competition with him. In fact we are NOT! We are not a commercial enterprise. We don't (have to) do this for money.
3) We feel this gives us credibility where he has none. He has subscribers and advertisers to answer to. We do not.

In the time I've been here, you have had no more success than Ek. I don't care about what has happened in the past because I wasn't a reader than. I'm a casual reader now, do your best to impress me. Your predictions look a lot like Ek's. You speculated, much like Ek, where Leclair may end up. You were wrong on all counts. You predicted Leetch to Tampa, nothing yet. I'm sure if I asked Ek for a list of his correct predictions he could come up with something just like you did. You made no mention of how many times you were wrong, which in my experience is just as often as Ek. You can spin statistics any way you want, until I see you nail one, you're no better than Ek.
Ultimately, which part of "I don't care how wrong Ek is" do you not understand? Ek could go the rest of his life and never nail another rumor and I would still visit his site religiously. I go there for the hockey talk.
If you're not in competition with Ek, then why do you try to nab his readers by posting your site on his threads? Just curious...

2) That would assume 2 things:
a) We need folks here to make money- we don't
b) Hockey fans only read 1 blog.- Certainly thats not true
3) If folks like yourself want to post/read here fine, if not ignore us, or rip us apart. We don't gain anything either way. Thats the same approach we have in posting on his site.
BTW- we post/comment regularly on about 10-15 other blogs! Only Eklund and his fans seem to have a problem with this.
Reading what you posted in Ek's blog it is pretty obvious why he banned you!
Debating points and such is one thing...degrading a person is completely another...
1) None of us were 'banned', just a silly temporary cessation of posting 'privileges'
2) As for 'degrading', that's just plain silly. If anything we are the ones who receive the most degradation from the "kool-Aid" drinking faithful
3) We have broad shoulders and can take any criticism, but obviously, he cannot
