1) Firstly, had a great time in Tampa Bay last afternoon/evening. The pregame tailgating with some of the folks there was a nice time for all. A huge thanks to Gary G. and Steven D. for the food! Those arapas were very good!
2) As for the game, the Habs played a very sound road game with Huet keeping Montreal in the game when TB came out flying to start. The PP for the Canadiens loooked pretty good. We know many of their fans don't like Souray, but his stats can't be argued with. If they really are intent on trading him, they probably could get something decent back. The question would be, if they did trade him, how much would the PP unit suffer?
3) Today we're following Montreal to Miami to see the Panthers. Despite losing their last home game to the caps, the cats are a pretty difficult opponent to beat in their 'den'. We will probably have more later today. As always, keep it here for the latest

the habs did play a solid road game lastnight...the slow start, like the penalty problems, are a work in progress i believe. ah yes the souray debate...i have made it clear that i am not a huge fan...his pp stats are great, its his defensive game that bugs the crap out of me..he is too erratic in his own end, he is like a chicken with his head cut off, he overplays the puck, gets himself out of position, and too often makes rash decisions with the puck, leading to nasty turnovers. all this said bob gainey's hands are tied...3 of his 4 top dmen are ufa at the end of the season...rivet is a life time habs, and i think will be the easiest to sign, markov is the best defenceman on the team, and should be priority number one...which leaves souray up for grabs...time will tell, i am not bob, but logic dictates that souray is the guy that is going to be shipped...his numbers thus far, may net a nice return...maybe for a younger, faster dman, who can play on the pp???
1) Sorry, the previous post violated one of our few posting rules: No Spam!
2) One can viamently disagree with what we write, but we will not allow spam
1) Yes, a younger, faster dman who can also play the PP would be great, but why would another team trade such a player?
2) If you look over the rosters of most teams, almost all have 1-2 defensemen who that team would idealy love to replace, but the pickings are thin, and with the cap very difficult to afford an upgrade.
hey i am not saying it will be easy, there is another school of thought out there that says it is logical to move markov..probably because in the end he has more trade value, and will probably cost more to retain. there are too many factors to consider right now...bob is going to sit on his hands until the deadline, the habs position in the standings, the play of markov and souray at that point will be a factor as well. personally i wouldn't mind seeing the habs retain all 3 guys, but under a cap system, that is virtually impossible, especially considering the habs other needs..namely a 2nd line center.
ps. You can delete my post all you want...I will keep postin it!
1) Sorry to all other readers, but it appears that a certain disgruntled/apparently delusional poster feels the need to continuously Spam our site.
2) If this continues we will have no choice but to contact the folks at Blogger-beta. In the mean time we will continue to begrudgingly remove the offending posts
Interestingly there is nothing in the Blogger Terms and Conditions that I am violating!
wow just when i thought the whole nutz vs. faux war was subsiding it takes a nasty twist...come on guys, get over it, kiss make up, rent a room, do something...how about just talking pucks... i feel like the united nations, and i have yet to decide, who is north korea... funny i have a john lennon song in my head, and an image of myself curled up in a bed with yoko ono in a hotel in mtl.
1) Sadly we've had to resort to what we never wanted to do. That is 'Moderate responses'. Hopefully this will be only necessary for a short while until the situation is resolved
Hey man, we're with ya faux! I understand the reason you had to moderate this guy. My personal opinion is he needs a padded cell. maybe he's posting from a hospital? LOL
1) We have NO idea what precipitated this latest salvo from the Nut, Pinko. Certainly we and no other member of the FAUXRUMORS family of bloggers have made any recent posting to his blog or mention him here either
2) Perhaps that why this started, he was lonely? LOL Anyway, we'll hopefully be getting back to hockey shortly.
Here is a tip...u will have to moderate your comments forever now...
Now that I have you...i will not release my grasp!
Geez that sounds gay! LOL
1) Again apologies to ALL readers that we were forced to moderate comments. As you can now see, we have had to deal with an apparent unbalanced individual
2) It has been reported to Blogger-Beta and we are awaiting their response to our query. In the mean time feel free to post. We and the other folks of FAUXRUMORS will be on hand throughout the afternoon to moderate and quickly publish your posts.
I thought this was all over yesterday? Seems with each passing day the vitriol goes up a notch. This time the offender is clear. Hockeynutz seems to have finally gone off the deep end.
But I agree with Pinkocanuck that we need to get back to hockey
Sorry, but i find all this VERY amuzing!! Keep it up guys! Come on faux, stop the moderation of comments! I loved the back and forth you guys had. Its clear that the other guy started it this time, but who cares. And his blogs seem almost totaly about you! Its great stuff!
1) hopefully this sillyness will be resolved shortly. We recieved this a short time ago
