Flyer Fall Out

1) FAUXRUMORS has learned some interesting tid bits concerning the recent turmoil in "The City of Brotherly Love". Apparently the problems that caused the axing of Hichcock, and the resignation of Bob (don't call me Bobby) Clarke goes back to the early pre season, or possibly even before camp
2) We're told that Flyers owner, and fitness freak, Ed Snider was displeased that Ken Hitchcock was continuing to 'put on the pounds', and called him to his office in September as players were reporting to camp. The portly Hitchcock was pushing 300+ pounds, and Snider did not think that this was a good model for his team to see. We're told he was telling insiders that his 'fat fuck coach' needed to lose weight.
3) Apparently Hitchcock did not enjoy being chewed out, but kept his mouth closed at the time, assuming the owner would forget about it. He was wrong. Snider was seen frequently discussing the issue with 'Hitch', and even offered to loan out his own personal trainer to help him with his weight issue
4) We're told that Snider partly attributes the Flyers poor start to poor conditioning, and blamed his former coach in that area. Telling a close friend,"How in hell can that fat whale expect the players to work hard when he looks like a poster boy for Crispy Cream Doughnuts!"
5) We're also told that Clarke himself has not been feeling all too well. Well known for being a diabetic, his health had been deteriorating under the stress of repeated under achieving seasons. So when Snider called him this past weekend telling him of his decision to remove Ken Hitchcock, Clarke felt it was also in his own personal best interest to step aside as well.
6) We at FAUXRUMORS fully expect Ken Hitchcock to quickly find work in the NHL. We wouldn't be surprised to see him back even before this season ends, and certainly by next. As for Clarke, he is probably done as a GM, but don't be surprised if he returns as a team president in the future.

1. Okay, here's my take on the overweight Captain Kangaroo look alike coach. If Philly was 7-0, Hitch's weight wouldn't even be an issue. Is it your contention that as soon as the Flyers experienced a slump this year, the coach would be fired? With the Flyers roster, they might as well have done this prior to the start of the season, because this group is going to endure several slumps.

2. As far as Hitchcock being a poster boy, he was, is, and always will be fat. I am sure in Snider's eyes that Kenny could weight 700 lbs. if he brought a Cup to the City of Brotherly Love.

gotta agree with antz..a 1-7-1 record and the embarrassing lose to buffalo, had a lot more to do with the canning with fatty mcbutterpants hitchcock, then did his afinity for krispy kreme do-nuts.

1) We didn't want our post to mean that Hitch was let go soly due to his size, just that it apparently was a contributing factor with Snider
2) We don't believe Snider ever was a big fan of Hitch, but until this weekend, would go along with almost everything hockey related that Bob Clarke would reccomend.

My sources indicate that Faux is really a 700lb fat man that sits at his computer naked getting off on making garbage up!

See...sources can tell you anything you want them to tell you!

Hint: Faux means FAKE!

Hitch's weight wasn't an issue when he was hired...and while he has expanded somewhat it wasn't like he was the thin and fit coach when he was hired.

Perhaps Hitch was fired because his team had only 1 win in 8 games?

Perhaps Hitch was fired because he had no solution during and after the Buffalo debacle?

To suggest what you suggest about Snider is irresponsible and slanderous. But then again I didn't expect much more from the guy that made up an entire interview with a Russian Mobster!

I find it hard to believe that Faux would have a source so close to the Flyers organization that he could get details of a very private conversation like this. If such a conversation ever did exist beyond the creative imagination of Faux I would bet it wasn't in a crowded elevator!

So that leaves the big question...if Faux has a source that close to the Flyers that he can get info on a very private conversation (that I believe never existed) then how was Faux not privy to even the slightest hint that the biggest coach and managerial move in the Flyers organization in over a decade was imminent?

Weird how he can get knowledge of such a private conversation yet not get a hint of the firing of the coach and 'resignation' of the GM.

I guess Faux's imagination can only stretch so far!

Or perhaps like the last time he missed something significant he 'just didn't consider it newsworthy or notable'!
