Faux Rip Off?

1) We read with amusement John Buccigross's latest column from ESPN.com today(http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/story?columnist=buccigross_john&id=2618278)
2) For your review here is our column printed 3 days earlier(http://fauxrumors.blogspot.com/2006/10/penguins-moving-north.html#links)
3) We understand it isn't an Earth shattering bit of news, but John could at least give us credit for being ahead of the pack on this story. Writing it only hours after the sale was announced.

1) The Yashin addition to the poll was intended as levity.
2) However as with real politics/elections, anyone can vote. The idiots have as much say as the folks who know the issues.

Hey i will give you props for mentioning a potential move of the pens up north, but well the speculation of such a move ran rampant as soon as blackberry boy signed a letter of intent to buy the pens...the fact that fox sports is a week late reporting this speculation, is more a sign of the fact that the american sports media are lazy as usual in their hockey coverage..must have been a nascar race, or a poker tournement...maybe the world horse shoe championship was on or something...good work though, keep it up.

1) We aren't going to say we were first to say the Penguins will soon move. There have been such rumors for the past couple of years.
2) However, after Blackberry boy's news conference most in the media were mentioning how this was so great, that the Pens are now safe to stay put
3) We believe were first to mention that this move meant the opposite; that it was the beginning of the end of hockey in Pittsburgh.
4) For the record we at FAUXRUMORS hope this is NOT so! We love the city of Pittsburgh. We will be there 11/18 for the FAUXRUMORS 30 CITIES BEFORE 2007 TOUR".http://fauxrumors.blogspot.com/2006/09/leg-ii-announced.html#links

There were at least two mainstream media sources (Globe and Mail and Pittsburgh Gazette) that reported the Pens are still not safe and possibly heading to Hamilton. Both outlets reported these on the Eve of the press conference and after the press conference.

Maybe you should be giving them credit?

1) As we previously mentioned, a possible move has long been mentioned PRIOR to the press conference
2) The Globe/Gazette articles are just part of that maelstrom of articles.
3) We were among the first to say that the move is NOW MORE likely to occur than before the finalization of the sale

The Globe and Mail says that the sale changes nothing about the chance to move. The Pitts Gazette article actuall says the sale may make such a move more likely!
